Civilian Training in Principle-Based Applied Combatives
5:30-8pm – Fridays at the Minnetonka Sportsmens Club
This is a three step program to prepare you for managing a threat, armed or unarmed.
OVERVIEW OF WHAT WILL BE COVERED: (NO EXPERIENCE or CCW required)
Course 1: - Fundamentals and Foundation of Personal Defense
Principles and Concepts of Living Fearlessly utilizing your "shadow" persona.
Intro to Firearms and Function - with training and real guns – Holstered draws, Belts, Holsters, Flashlights.
The importance of being able to flip the Prey-to-Predator Switch - the Mindset for surviving a real threat.
How we Build Skills to subconscious mastery for recall under stress.
Moving and shooting (training tools only)
Post-Encounter Recommendations, practices and legal considerations
Course 2. - Unarmed Self Protection, Threat Response Action Plan (TRAP) - Co.D.S.A., Attack and Press, Managing Weapon attacks.
o Balance
o Movement
o Looseness
o Tools (available in your environment)
o Control the Head, Dominate the Throat
o Looseness, and Violence of Action (overwhelming forward pressure while Balanced).
o Going to the ground and getting up
o Anatomy – How we strike, where we strike, how we defend, low kicks, stomping
• Physical Fitness
• Diet, Supplements and the Truth about what works
• Sleep, Meditation, Breathing to calm/reduce anxiety
Course 3. - Dynamic Defensive Shooting
• Dynamic Counter Ambush –
• Moving and Shooting.
• Shooting from behind cover.
• Shooting from positions (seated, ground, on back, on side etc.)
• Defending Home
• Active Shooter
• Carjacking Prevention and Defense
